Esben Tjalve – Pianist/Accordian/MDEsben grew up in Denmark where he played music from an early age. He gradated from the RAM with Bachelor Honours where he is currently part time teaching, and went on to do a masters in compisition at the famous Guildhall School of Music. Since then he has composed music for the BBC, and many theatre productions as well a an nominated film animation “Marriage of the Thames and the Rhine’ and ‘The Cloud in Trousers’ play at Wiltons Music hall. His talents as a jazz pianist have seen collaborate with James Allsopp, Mishka Adams and many other contemporary jazz artists. Not content with just jazz he has also teamed with Ghanian Hip hop artists M3nsa for Radio One Live Sessions and Ohruin for BBC radio 6. Esben and Lucinda met on quirky note in Wiltons Music Hall. He is now MD for the LBO.
Phil G – DrumsPhil.G is originally from Austria. After studying at the Vienna Jazz Conservatory he decided to move to London in mid 2004 where he has since enjoyed a versatile and busy schedule, both live and in the studio. He has been introduced to the LBO by no other than Derrick McKenzie. He still owes him a hearty, Austrian meal for that – homemade of course as he loves to prepare those in his spare time with a little help of his Grandmother’s secretguidebooks. www.myspace.com/philippgdrums

Sheldon Conrich is a multi instrumentalist guitarist/pianist/ukulele from North West London. He started playing music at an early age on the classical guitar, joining youth bands and orchestras. After attending LIPA, Sheldon shadowed producer Chipz, where he was given the chance to work on Gwen Stefani’s first album ‘L.A.M.B.’. Since then Sheldon has had success with the Wood Jazz duo, worked on a number of up and coming artist albums and been fortunate to have many studio credits to his name. A chance meeting at a live flamenco night saw Sheldon introduced to Lucinda and he has stuck by her ever since.
Brett Vanderburgh – BassBret is a player with an impressive live portfolio. A graduate with Honours from Humber College of Music in Jazz performance (Toronto, Canada), he studied with the likes of Mike Farquharson, Pat LeBarbera, and Charles Toliver. Brett has worked around the world for Maureen McGovern, Helen Shapiro, Buddy Greco, Frank Gorshin, Lorna Luft, Cirque du Soleil, the original ‘Shout’ at Jermyn street theatre, Smokey Joe’s Cafe, as well as numerous artists’ albums in styles ranging from Hard Rock to Country to Salsa to Jazz/Fusion and Soul. He has supported Maceo Parker, Ce Ce Winans and Soulive and has appeared in some of the worlds leading venues such as Ronnie Scotts, The Rivoli and Lee’s Palace. Greg Hall – CelloGreg is half French, half English and London born. Whilst working predominantly as a cellist he is also a songwriter and composer, working in film, theatre and dance. His work has enabled him to indulge in his passion for travel, taking him to diverse locations such as Algeria, Poland and South Africa. Greg joined the LBO after sharing a post gig cigarette with a former LBO member, outside the Cobden Club.
Harry Brown – TromboneHarry Brown: Trombone, Composer & Musical Director was born in London and has excelled in a variety of musical spheres. Harry’s musical background stems from the church and was nurtured at a very early age by his mother who was a Church Organist – he is now the Church Organist following in her footsteps and guidance. In recognition of his significant contribution to the music industry Harry was made an Associate of the Royal Academy of Music in May 2010. His performance, studio and vast arranging credits include many international artists across the globe: Massive Attack, Adele, Tom Jones, Barry White, Joss Stone to name but a few. Oren Marshall – TubaOren is a pioneering player of acoustic tuba and electric tuba, who crossing between classical, jazz, improvised and world music, has collaborated with the likes of Derek Bailey, Bobby McFerrin to the Pan African Orchestra and London Philharmonic. He leads and writes for his Charming Transport Band, an irresistibly captivating sound that mixes jazz, Afro beat, traditional Ghanian and Sephardic improvised music.
Oleg Lapidus – ClarinetBorn in Almaty – the capital city of the Soviet Kazakhstan (close to the birth place of the notorious Borat) in 1970, Oleg Lapidus started to play piano at the age of 11 and later decided to learn clarinet. He was accepted to Almaty Musical College (classical clarinet) and upon graduation – to Almaty State Pedagogical University (classical piano, vocal, conducting and teaching) andAlmaty State Conservatoire (classical clarinet). After successfully graduating both of them with Masters Degree in Music he immigrated to Israel. Now back in London Oleg plays Gypsy Jazz in Quequmbar, Greek music with Greek function band ZOI, Klezmer with different Klezmer bands and solo with his backing tracks in clubs, hotels, live music bars and restaurants across England. He professionally teaches piano, clarinet, flute and sax.
Dave Shulman – Bass ClarinetDave has worked with an array of fine musicians in a multitude of different styles. He is activeon London’s jazz scene having worked regularly and recorded with jazz legend Mike Garrick andalso having recorded with Sir John Dankworth. He is also equally at home playingGypsy Music and Klezmer music, he has played with and recorded with the award winning Shekoyokh ensemble, and recently featured prominently on Yiddish singer HildaBronstein’s album on ARC in addition to playing on Mor Karbasi’s forth-coming album. He has featured on Broadcasts including Radio 3’s jazz line up as well as having recorded for productions on Channel 4 and recently the band he co-founded: ‘Chancery Blame and the Gadjo club’ has been aired on Radio 1 among other stations.
